Prevail

'Prevail' is a body of work based around intimate documentation of the shower. The work explores a personal healing journey after sexual trauma, using the ritualistic routine of washing as the vessel of communication between artist and viewer. The intimate moments exposed in the work engages the audience in a complex conversation around consent, authorship and agency. The work joins the the vast historic depictions of the female nude, however through careful consideration of imagery, Olivia aims renavigate the story of female nudity in art, removing herself from the sexualised tradition and reclaim her own personal authorship over her naked body. Using life sized fabric prints that use sheer fabric to transcend clear imagery, the work featured in Olivia's Undergraduate degree show (2025).
