I am currently in my last few months at Loughborough, part-taking in the ArtisitsFuturesFund Breakthrough Artist Fellowship 25/26.

Where I have continued to explore themes of self-reclamation, bodily autonomy, and the recontextualisation of the female nude through immersive installation.

 

Current practise and exploration-

My practice explores the female body in relation to the lived experiences of women today, and how the politics surrounding it are embedded within contemporary visual culture.

​

Currently, my work centres on the shower routine as both a physical and symbolic space defined by privacy and repetition. Rooted in ideas of healing, I use this familiar, enclosed environment to unpick the complicity surrounding violence against women today. The repeated interactions of the body within this transitional space are something I consistently explore to better understand concepts of privacy, routine, and connection to the self.

I use my own body within the work to reclaim authorship and agency over my sense of self. These moments are not offered for consumption, but for confrontation, questioning ideas of privacy, safety, and vulnerability.

More recently, I have become fascinated by the impact of AI and how it is creating new forms of harm not only towards women, but also in how we understand identity and humanity more broadly. The comparison between the deeply human act of cleansing and the cold, artificial nature of AI is of particular interest to me. As humanness becomes increasingly reduced in the external world, greater importance is placed on the time taken to connect not only with others, but also with oneself.
